I’m not big on baking so I apologize in advance if my questions are way too ignorant, but here is goes ……. I found this old Czech cook book (about mid 70’s) and want to try some of the recipes, but am confused about baking powder measurements. First of all I want to make sure “prasek do peciva” is baking powder. It is .. right? And if not, then what is it? And my second question. Many of the recipes call for various portions of a pack of baking powder, as in: “….. pridejte pul sacku prasku do peciva …” Just how big is the bag? Thank you for your time
kypřící prášek do pečiva = baking powder You can see on the picture that the bag is usually 13 g big. Na 1/2 kg mouky: těsta třená: celý sáček (whole bag) těsta křehká: 2/3 sáčku těsta knedlíková: 1/3 sáčku Links: http://projektysipvz.gytool.cz/Projekty ... px?uid=796 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baking_powder
You are awesome! Thank you so very much Troll. So technically adding “… half a pack …” would be either 6g. or 6.5g. Ok, so basically being perfectly “exact” is not overly crucial when it comes to baking powder? Am I understanding it correctly? I'll go with 6.5g when I try it  And again … thank you so very much for taking the time to answer
Any idea how many teaspoon or tablespoon would be in a package? In Canada we cook with this measurements, thank you
