Přísahám, že si chci vzít holku/dívku, která vypadá přesně jako ty/vy.

I am trying to figure out the situation I would use this sentence :).

The use of that sentence would either be a bit of an insult or have incestuous implications! (Not sure how you spell incestuous)

How do you say incest in Czech?

We say it... incest :) - from Latin incestus or incestum (meaning unchaste, impure)

I would translate your sentence this way:

Přísahám, že se ožením s holkou, co bude vypadat přesně jako ty!

    Why?

That phrase is actually a shy compliment. It's for someone who wants to tell the girl she is gorgeous but doesn't want to be so bold as to come right out and say it, so he swears he will marry someone who looks just like her. Then she knows that she is so pretty that he would want to look at her for the rest of his life. I don't see how that is incestuous or an insult.

I didn't see it from that perspective, I see how it could be a shy compliment. I suppose the woman could also be already happily married and as such out of reach, then it's a compliment too.
If you say it to your mother, sister, daughter, grandmother etc. then it has incestuous implications because it means that you fancy someone from your family.
My initial reaction was that he was saying that she's attractive but doesn't have a great personality which makes it a possible insult.

Very true, I never thought of someone saying it to a family member. It would be gross. :x

True, I didn't think of that either.

How about the old song "I want a girl just like the girl that married dear old dad"? I always thought that was a bit Oedipal.

Ahoj vsichni... thanks for both renditions. I just wanted to clarify however...that there's NO incest going on here !!

Someone please enlighten me though.. those weird verbs that end in 'OUT', they always give me trouble... in this case that verb, Odprihasnout, is it perfective? imperfective? Can someone diagram it for me please given the subjects below?

    ja-
    ty-
    on/ona-
    jsme-
    vy-
    oni-

    thanks again.
    -M-

I suppose you mean “odpřisáhnout” (= swear, take oath…). The switching of “s” and “h” is quite dangerous. The verb “odpřihasnout” does not exist actually, but it sounds like a verb derived from the verb “hasit” (= extinguish).

    paste tense (for masculine):

    já jsem odpřisáhl
    ty jsi odpřisáhl
    on odpřisáhl
    my jsme odpřisáhli
    vy jste odpřisáhli
    oni odpřisáhli

    future tense

    já odpřisáhnu
    ty odpřisáhneš
    on odpřisáhne
    my odpřisáhneme
    vy odpřisáhnete
    oni odpřisáhnou

It is a perfective verb, thus there exist no present tense for it.

I believe that song refers to her character and heart rather than looks. There's a big difference.

Sorry, I've lost my sense of sarcasm today. Actually all week. I got a lot going on right now. Lately, I get on this site as a desperate attempt to escape my busy schedule. :?
