Why is it that every girl I met here feels the need to paint themselves to a degree that makes them qualified to work for cirkus Humberto? Makeup has always been a terrible turn off to me, with the Ukrainians winning the dubious distinction of wearing the most. Why cant all girls look like Dana? ( you are the bomb dana )

Also, dont you women find it a tad cold to be wearing a miniskirt in December?

I say burn the store PINK in Novy Smichov! Or at least limit the entry age, if you are over 15 no entry permitted

And what is up with these little teddy bears that everyone wears attached to their bags? Cute if your 10, not for a 30 year old though!

    My 2 bucks...

Well this brings to mind an interesting question... will I as a female be criticized in Prague for not wearing any makeup at all?

Hi KJP and thank you in case you were referring to me. :) You brought up an interesting topic. I'm puzzled myself about those teddy bears. With respect to the miniskirts, I used to wear them in December and I remember being quite comfortable.

No, you won't. There are many girls and women in Prague who don't wear any makeup. Seems that they're avoiding KJP for some reason. :)

Yes, I was refering to you Dana

Its not just teddy bears, all sorts of little stuffed animals are donned from the bags, what gives with this, seems a tad childish...

So, this December I will be looking for you in a miniskirt, tell me where!

The older more mature girls (bettter educated) seem to be the ones that don't wear so much makeup, if any at all. It is in the Bible not to paint yourself....

Avoiding me, boy I hope not, its just that there aren't as many, and usually they are too old (I would like to have a child with someone)!

Pink and paint are for kids...

Ha ha, I said I USED to. In the mid-1990s.

That's your opinion. Pink was a hot color a year or two ago. Everyone wore pink because the fashion designers said you should. I'd say pink is for those who look good in it and paint is for all women who know how to use it. Well applied makeup can often make a woman prettier than she is without it.

Why we should go by the Bible in deciding about makeup escapes me... Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces seems a better source.

when i was 16 to 18 i thought make up was not supposed to be noticable. it seems that syle is seen very seldom. i personally stopped wearing it. too lazy to apply it. in summer almost impossible to keep on. i never was into racoon type eyes. but i think angelina jolie is scrumptious.

Because of the reference to the Bible and blasphemy, which, inevitably, couldn't have been left unaddressed. It's not all about you. Although let me think, the above references were made by you. So when it comes down to it, you're right.

    Hi there,

Well I am kinda new the Czech room, But I happen to like a woman with makeup. Here in the states women have all but stopped using makeup. Mostly when they get married. Then for the husband it is just plain Jane. Then they wonder why we stop showing as much interest in them. I think if they try a bit harder to keep their men interested, they may keep them longer.
So, paint away ladies. It looks good from here. Oh, and pink is ok as long as it is not overdone.

    I am single!!!!!

We used to joke about this very same thing. We always said as the temps went downt he skirts came up. Ahhh how I miss the Czech winters.

    ;)

  18. As an Italian American woman, I must say that for our culture, the average Italian woman didn't wear make up. But here in the states, it's different. True, the majority of women have all but stopped wearing it because they go too much by fashion mags telling them that men like that "au natural" look and they believe it. When what they should be doing is what Will said, doing it for THEIR man. I couldn't care less what every other man on the planet thinks of me wearing make up (by the way, I do and not kabuki or street harlot style, think more along the lines of Angelina Jolie). I wear just enough to look good for my man and to feel good about myself. Any more than that and you are advertising something bad. And as far as the skirts go, there is a fine line between dressing sexy and dressing slutty. I don't go by the AGE rule. Because there are women in their 50's who look far better in a mini than some women in their 20's. It should go by the woman and how she carries herself.

Women have become too practical. They're trying so hard to fit into a man's world that they have forgotten what it's like to be a part of our own wonderfully sexy, feminine world. So paint up and dress up ladies and show off your best assets while being happy with yourself.

Can you be any more sexist?

First, makeup does not make a person. Second, if you marry someone for their makeup that is shallow to say the least. Third, maybe the women are too tired to put on makeup because they have to keep putting the toilet seat down after their men use the washroom.

    Thank you Bella

It is interesting that women don't see to point of looking good for their men any more. The use of makeup is not just for attracting men. It doesn't mean that you have to use that much makeup. I am sure that women don't like that their men don't look good for them in the same way. I think turn about is fair play. As for m me, my ex-wife would get dressed up to go to work, as it turned out she was intertaining the guys at work. Now if she had done that for me, things might have ended differently.

The woman I am seeing now sees the difference between looking good for me and looking good for other men and it is very nice. Her use of makeup is very pleasing. I don't even think she minds putting the toilet seat down as I don't mind putting it back up. It is a lot nicer than peeing on the seat and letting her sit in it.

    Will
