    Hi everybody!

I'm looking for the name of a czech song of 1992 or 1993. I had a czech girlfriend at this time and when we was at the discotheque, the DJ played that one song every time. The name of the band sounds like the hebrew word for peace "Shalom" and the song was a ballad. It must have been a big hit in the czech republic. Could somebody tell me the accurate names of the band and the song?

Thank you very much and greetings from Germany,
    Sven

    Hi Sven,

Could the song have been Bon Soir, Mademoiselle Paris? The band's name is Shalom as you thought. I remember listening to that song on the radio in 1993 when I was living in Prague. Some other musicians/groups I liked back then were Lucie Bila, Ivan Hlas, Yo Yo Band, and Ticha Dohoda.

    Hi
I can relate to you Sven and Jeff, by having listened to some awesome Czech music, too. I was wondering if you know of the Czech band called "Cechomor"?
I absolutely loved their music and it holds special meaning to me because a tape of them was given to by a wonderful friend who is Czech. Ever hear of or heard their music?
    Thanks!

Yes, Čechomor is pretty popular in the Czech Republic. I bought their CD a couple of years ago when visiting the Czech Rep. They're quite unique.

Ooh Cechomor...great band! I've got all their cd's and actually met them in London when they played here on Wednesday. I've never got so many bear-hugs and kisses in my life..bless them :) Fantastic music...i've never heard anything like it.
