Hi everyone, My boyfriend and I are visiting Prague next week (21st-24th) for the first time and we're having trouble finding information about how to get from the airport to our hotel cheaply! We're staying in the Hotel Pariz, does anybody know if this is near a tram/metro line? Thanks for reading, hope you can help! Mel
Ahoj Mel, I have just returned from Praha on 14 Dec. This might not be the fastest way to get to your hotel but it is inexpensive. From the airport take bus 119 (the bus stop is across the street from international arrivals) to the Dejvicka Metro station. You will get on the Metro line A (Green) and ride until the Mustek station. When you get off of the Metro you will have to figure out how to get to the Old Town exit as I don't remember how and you will have to walk to the hotel (not far). According to the address and directions from a web site it is really close to the Metro station. You will know you are at the correct exit when you get up to the street there is a New Yorker store in the direction to Old Town. I hope this helps. Usal
Thanks Usal, thats really helpful! I appreciate it loads, it should make our journey a lot less stressful! Hope you had a good time, do you recommend any places that really shouldn't be missed? Have a good Christmas Mel
Well I really enjoyed just walking in the city and going into the shops (my fiancee likes to shop hehehe) but the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle are in my opinion must see places also in Old Town the Astronomical Clock. I had a really great time. I'm going to try to return in Feb or March. You have a wonderful Christmas also. If you need any other information let me know. I did so much, I'm still trying to take it all in. Usal
Hi, You can find information on getting from the airport to downtown on the Transportation to and from the Airport page on My Czech Republic. Information on getting around Prague can be found on the Prague Transportation System page. The closest metro stop to your hotel is Namesti Republiky on line B (yellow line). Jeff
Hi Usal, Your information on bus 119 is correct and Mustek on line A (green line) is a good central stop. With some light luggage, it is not a problem to walk down Na Prikope to get to the hotel. In addition, this would avoid having to transfer to line B (yellow line). However, one Namesti Republiky exit happens to be right at the hotel. Jeff
Thanks Jeff, I plan on returning to Prague in Feb or March so I am trying to learn as much as possible before I go. I really love the city (even when it is cold).
Usal: This is a bit of the subject, but I noticed that you are from Magate, FL. and I need some information about Bike Part USA, they are also located in Magate. Are they still in business, or are they just billing credit cards and not sending the merchendize. I purchased a electric wheel motor for my bicycle from them, and after debiting my CC they just plain "forgot" to send the merchendize.. Their phone seems to have gone bye, bye? Thanks, I'll appreciate any 411 you can provide. Thanks. Viktor
While you're on the subject, I was wondering if either of you could give me some help regarding gettiong to the hotel from the airport............I will be staying in Zizkov - Hotel Grand, which is on Rohacova St. I have read that it is best to get the tram as the metro is quite far away from where I am staying - so, from the airport, would you recommend me getting the bus to the centre and then tramming it to the hotel, or would getting a cab be much more convenient! Thanks for your help - though I've read about ways to reach the hotel, I'd love to hear some first-hand feedback
A cab is more convenient, but much more expensive (20 Kč vs. 600+ Kč). http://www.dp-praha.cz/idos/ConnForm.asp?tt=e&cl=E5 the nearest tram stop is Lipanská the nearest bus stop is Tachovské nám. From: letiste To: tachovske or lipanska Date: d.m.y Time: hh:mm E.g. Airport - 14:20 bus 119 - Dejvická - tram 26 - Lipanská 15:12 (52 min, 18 km, 20 Kč)
Hotel Paris is "behind" Municipal House. You will see Municipal house when you exit Metro Namesti Republiky.
