    Hello All,

I'm a 4th-year Finnish university student who is coming to Prague in early September, and planning to rent a flat for 5 months. I would greatly appreciate any information about the monthly apartment fees in downtown Prague for, say, a two-room flat?

The tourist vacation flats with a EUR 100 daily fee sound crazy.

    Thanks friends,

Locals would pay cca 12000-15000 kc/month. Of course it very much depends on location. Centre of Prague is pretty much overpriced and no locals rent there.

    Thanks!

I assume the price range was for a one room flat. Btw., does anyone know are there any rental websites where private people can leave ads for rent or to rent apartments?

I am planning to come by car. I am a little bit scared of that I'll get my car stolen there though. I have heard that it's quite common. Luckily my '89 Volvo does not exactly attract people. Anyways, I've been planning to keep it outside the town in guarded parking lots. The parking prices are reasonable, and it seems like the most appropriate way. I'm curious to know does any housing companies have safe parking places for their residents.

Any comments or answers would be highly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Topias

    Hi Topias :!:

I would have some reccomodation for you, but don't know if I obligate by it. 'Coz accomodation is not in downtown.
I know about one hostel in Praha-Sporilov. When I go to Prage for more days and my aunt is not in, I stay there. Although it is for workers of Czech railways, but tourists and students can be accomodate there too. When I stayed there last time, I payed about 120,- Kc (4,-Euro) for night. I'm sure, it won't be more than 200 Kč per night.

    Greetings from Ostrava

    Thank you!

Since I come together with my girlfriend and stay long, I think an apartment would suite me better. But this tip is going to turn very useful when I give it to friends coming to Prague, so thanks!

P.S. Sorry administrators that this message was sent to the intro board. Wrong context, I know. Feel free to transfer it under more proper heading, if you like.

I think there are quite many long term parking places out of centre but within the good reach by public transport.
    For example :

http://garaze.kont.cz/ - long term parking out of centre (but close to metro) 1200 Kc/month
