    Hi Everyone,
Seven of us are visiting Prague in mid November.
We will be staying at the Central Hotel in district one.
Could you kindly offer suggestions to traditional, reasonably priced restaurants nearby?
A good beer hall with food and singsong would be nice?
Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.......Dylan(Wales)

    Hi,
Perhaps you might like to try Restaurace U Medvídků, located in Prague 1. It's an authentic Czech beer hall, with a pleasant atmosphere (non-smoking restaurant and beer garden out the back). The menu consists of a variety of traditional Bohemian specialties, and reasonably priced too.

Staroměstská Restaurace and U Benedikta are also close and offer a range of Czech and foreign specialties alike. I have not been to these two so I can't comment as such.

Thank you Evian restaurace U Medvidku sounds ideal. We are all non smokers so this might suit our needs better. Although in November it might be a bit too cold to sit outside? Definitely worth considering, I will see if they have a web site.
I will investigate the other two also.
Seems strange that 66 people have viewed this post and you are the first to be bothered to reply? I wonder why?(66 never bothered)
I want to thank you again for being the first person to reply...........................Cheers Dylan(Wales)

    Hi Dylan!
Evian is absolutely right, U Medvidku is great. Be sure to try the house beer.
U Rotta, just adjacent to the Old Town Square on the Male Namesti, is pretty good. Two caveats about U Rotta: I recommend sticking to the more traditional Czech dishes there, and if you order a large beer it's a litre, not a half. (my wife had trouble lifting it!) Also, U Sadlu is great (one of my favorite reastaurants in Prague). It's on the opposite side of the National Museum from Wenceslas Square, on the corner of Vinohradska and Manesova.(which is just a couple of blocks) It's a small beerhall in a gothic cellar. It looks like something out of a Robinhood movie, the prices are low, and the food is great. Dobrou chut'!

    Hi Dylan,
some of us read the posts for the same reason you posted it - just to get a few tips. I ate at a number of good restaurants in Prague, just don't remember their names so not much help to you. Did find a nice little cafeteria on Dlouha towards the east end - good lunch, good prices, and we were the only foreigners in the place - shouldn't be too hard to find. Hope you enjoy your stay.
