I will be in Scotland during May and June of this year. I heard that I could fly from Preswick to Prague for very little money. hAs anyone out there ever flown Ryan Air and is it really cheap. It seems to me that I could get to Prague and back for under fifty American dollars. Does that sound about right?

Are you sure that Ryanair even flies to Prague? My recollection is they don't.
Sure they are cheap, and reasonably safe, but their aircraft are very outdated and hence, very noisy.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I looked up Raynair again only to find that you were right. Raynair does fly in the Chech Republic to the City of Brno. That could be even better than Prague as my final destination is to be Karvina. Kavina is about a little over a three hour bus ride from Brno. It just might be a great way to see the beautiful countryside I have read so much about. Once again, Thank you very much
I have seen many pictures of that section of the CZ from the Lasani 5 website. Thanks to that group they have increast my desire to see the place for myself

I really hate Ryanair but it is unfair to say their aircraft are outdated or noisy. The entire fleet is made up of the fairly recent Boeing 737-800.

If you book really far in advance Ryanair can be cheap, but otherwise it can turn out to be a rip-off. And the customer service has the worst reputation of any airline. Carriers such as Aer Lingus or Czech Airlines usually prove to be cheaper and of course more pleasant to fly with.

Correction: The entire fleet is only partially made up of 737-800s, for which they have begun gradually replacing the older model -200s. My experience with Ryanair was when the 737-200s were the primary carrier. This particular model is largely restricted due to the noise (even with hush-kits) and air pollution created by PW engines, so this opinion is valid.

I think if you check your facts you will discover that Ryanair has retired all of its 737-200s.

But it doesn't matter anyway as Ryanair is a dreadful airline. In fact I can't believe I'm standing up for them at all.

    LOL.
Yes sorry, you are correct, they have replaced their entire -200 fleet. I haven't flown with them since '04 so I was unaware.
