I want to buy a number of Czech Films on DVD (I realise that not all of them might have been released yet) and wondered if there was an outlet in the UK for them. Failing that, could anyone recommned a seller in Česko that sells over the internet.

Films that I'm interested in include:-

Doblba, Městečko, Pupendo, Postriziny, Štěstí, Román pro ženy a Divoké včely.

As I said numerous times on this board, the cheapest e-shops are Vltava and FilmCity. These pages are unfortunately only in Czech, but shouldn't have problems with typing the name of movie into search box (Vyhledávání, hledat) and seeing the price. You should be able to do it without knowing Czech at all. If you have some more questions about these pages or need some help with ordering from the website, just let me know and I can help you.
Unfortunately I don't Know about e-shops with Czech movies in UK.

Many thanks for the information. I have managed to successfully register on the Vltava web site and, I believe, order two DVD's, even though my knowledge of the Czech language is very limited. However, with the help of Seznam translator I managed to fill in all of the relevant information and pay by credit card. I am now waiting with great anticipation to see if Městečko and Román pro ženy actually arrive. Fingers crossed!

Oh, congratulation to your succesfull ordering. It's not so easy. I remember when I was ordering DVDs from Poland e-shop, it's not so easy when you don't speak the language. However, your job was harder, you know, czech-poland is easier than czech-english.
Anyway, hope your DVDs will arrive without problems. If you will have some, feel free to ask us.

Just to update everyone. I did manage to successfully register and order 2 DVDs from vltava.cz (in Czech).

Having ordered the 2 films on 6th March, the web site informed me that one was "in stock" and the second would be available on the 20th March.

The correct amount was debited from my account and the the DVDs dispatched on the 20th March - as indicated - arriving safely on the 23rd March.

The only slight downside to this was the cost of postage and packing. Total cost for the 2 DVDs was 754 Kč, with postage 523 Kč. However, this is not a criticism as the DVDs were very securely packaged and arrived safely. I therefore consider it a small price to pay, to be able to obtain the films in the UK and am now looking forward to watching ROMÁN PRO ŽENY a MĚSTEČKO.

I would certainly recommend vltava.cz and will be buying more Czech films from them. Thank you to Gementricxs for bringing the company to my attention.

Interesting to look at the www.dvdr.cz web site, especially as it is in English. The DVDs that I looked at on their site are a little more expensive than vltava, although to be fair I didn't compare the postage and packing costs.

It's always useful to have a number of alternatives, to compare prices.
