Prague temperatures in March range from a low of about 32 to a high of 46 (F) - April can get up to about 56 so you may see warmer temps during the end of the month. Also, usually averages a little over 1" rain total for the month and rains about 6 days out of the month. It will be brisk but should be pleasant if you dress warmly (layer so you can take off garments inside - buildings are usually very warm).

It's been unseasonably warm this winter. As I sit here this morning, preparing to go out, it's mild and damp. Yes, you'll need some sort of coat but not what I'd call a winter coat. Most women wear a variation of an anorak/car coat. They have far more stylish anoraks here than in London! I've made do with my thin leather coat all winter and I've already been out several times in just a jacket. So don't bother bringing a heavy coat. By 20 March, if the weather continues like this, you certainly won't need it.
I do hope you have an early spring. It is such a treat to shed the winter weeds and see the sun and feel its warmth. We have some early trees and shrubs blooming here as well as some daffodils and hyacinths. The world is pink and yellow! We have even seen flashes of bluebirds and gold finches, sure signs that spring is here in the southland. Thanks for the encouraging news.
I was there during late April early May when I went and there were days (most days actually) when I wore my wool turtleneck sweater and a light raincoat over my clothes. But mostly I made do with the wool sweater and scarf. So, yes, you'll need some warm clothes!
I am back (sadly) from Prague and I loved it. Odd thing about the weather though: When I arrived it was cold and there was a light, wet snow. The forsythia and cherry trees were blooming, and I was not suprised as my daughter had told me it had been sunny and in the 50's. I was glad I had my coat as winter persisted for several more days, but by the weekend, spring had reappeared with dry warm days to greet the newly opened Easter market. So I got to experience two seasons in Prague in only 10 days. Now I am back in Atlanta where it is going to be in the 20's (F) tonight and it is still warm in Prague. I want to go back!
There is Czech saying about April weather - "Aprílové počasí" (Fool's day weather) anti confusion helper: "Apríl" is Fool's Day in Czech, "duben" is April in English.
I had heard that April could be spring or winter, but I was there in March, and there were several days in early March when we would call our daughter and she would be out enjoying a warm sunny day. She really lucked out by spending this winter in Prague that has been so much warmer than usual. I understand that last year there was snow on the ground will into March.
