I was there last year. For a short period of time I felt almost like at home. I did not eat there, but Pilsner beer costs 2,8 pounds.

It is very easy to get there, It's close to "Hampstead" tube station (Northern line (the black one), north-west branch). Exit the station, turn left down the street, some 200-300 m (600-800fts), the pub is on your left.

Being in London it is worthy to visit this place. For czechs in London and for all the people interesting in czech culture it is a must.

    Hi Phillip and DjAvatar,

Thanks so much for this recommendation, I shall definitely try it - it sounds quite interesting being a club, not just a restaurant and it's not too far for me to go! You guys are have a wealth of information! :)

If anyone's interested, my late father was manager there just after the war. His naturalisation certificate has 74 West End Lane as his address, so he must have lived 'over the shop'!

It's very good and I've had many good Czech meals there since I moved to London from Manchester. I have now moved to Prague, so I can eat even more authentic Czech food!
