Jak se mas! We are looking for a female Czech aupair to start May 1, 2002. We live in a beautiful Southern California beach city. We're a fun & energetic family with 2 kids: 10-year old daughter and 5-year old son. Must have drivers license (state or international) for at least 2 years. Some housekeeping and cooking twice per week required. Benefits are many! Looking forward to your response. Email: salesforceonebg@aol.com

Brendarin, Looking for cheap household-help to exploit? Or, perhaps you run a sex club, and will hold the girl prisoner. Any way you look at it, it's a bad deal.

No, actually Helena -- we're a legitimate family trying to find another Czech aupair because the last one we had was spectacular and our children fell in love with her. She taught them some of her cultures and language and we thought it a great idea to find another. She had to go home because her mother fell ill. We have her phone, address & email for any prospective aupair to contact her. Your insinuations about any family being involved in a sex or crime ring is most out of line and we hope any family seeing "Helena" will steer clear!

    Brenda,
In my opinion there are just two reasons that you would by-pass a legal au pair agency......

    1) You are trying to save the agency fee, and skimp on the going au pair wage.
Are you giving full room and board? Are 2 days per week and evenings free? Use of the family car during off hours? 1,500 USD per month? Bonus for cooking and cleaning not in the original agreement.

    2) A second reason for not dealing with an agency is that things might not be on the up-and-up. Will you provide names and telephone numbers that can be verified in a on-line telephone directory, AND CALLED, for the following people:
    Your Employer
    City Police
    District Police
    Your Church

You willing to give email of last girl, means nothing. I can give email address that could say I was the King of England. Email means nothing.

    Best Regards,
    Helena

    Helena,
Obviously, you're not aware of the reasons behind Aupair websites. But we have already gone through the agency route and have come up with aupairs that we were not satisfied with. The only one we were satisfied with happened to be from the Czech. But there is no reason for us to try and explain anything to someone so ignorant and unwilling to accept our sincerity, so we won't try. Please don't try and respond to this post. I didn't open it in order to go through verbal sparring with you. You're an unregistered user, which means one of 2 things: You're either scared to let everyone know of your real reasons for cruising this site, or you're a bitter aupair/nanny who cannot get a job. If it's the latter, believe me...I definitely see why!

I'm with brendarin, Helena!!! You're WAYYYY out of line!! Many families have their nanny preferences. Who are YOU to say that's wrong? Why do you think people post for English, French, Canadaian, etc. nannies? Maybe because they're looking to bring that specific culture into their household...you think??? You're definitely someone who needs to WAKE UP! brendarin, I'm sure you're a great family that will find the perfect nanny for your kids. Don't listen to clueless jokesters like Helena!

brendarin, I just want to say that I'm on your side 100%. I've been following the exchange between you and Helena and didn't want to get in the middle of it but Helena's second post made me decide to finally say something. I don't know what Helena's problem is but obviously there is one - maybe her own bad experience as an au-pair. Even if that's the case, it sure doesn't give her a right to throw dirt on anyone without a reason. I'm sorry you're having such an unpleasant experience on our site.

Good luck in finding a nanny you're happy with!

i am on the other hand with helena.

if some one sends such a post it is suspect. it can be genuine and can be fake.

if brendarin is serious, they should give their poassport info to double check to the person who contacts them.

people. this is not a fairy tale worls we live in. so lets be mature and realize that brendarins post can be taken negatively just as easily.

i support helenas view in that one must warn any reader of the alternatives ahead..and also warn any potential au-pair of the dangers of such posts.

it is not personal - just a fact.
