Hi -- I have a plane ticket for Prague in November, originally to visit family but my family moved back to the states and I still want to go but afraid to go by myself ... is Prague friendly for single visitors, meaning eating alone, etc. or will I find it uncomfortable and I should cancel my ticket?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Prague and Czech republic are generaly very safe.
If you use common sense, you will be ok.

    Be aware of pickpockets, though.

It usually better not to behave like a tourist. When I was coming from London to Prague two weeks ago, there was agroup of women in their late 30s in the plane, dressed in pink t-shirts with a sign "Girls on the trip" or similar, English speaking, it was like they were saying: "rip us off".

Thanks so much for all the advice. I will surely NOT wear a "pink t-shirt". Whats so funny, is that here in the USA, everyone will ask me if I am from Poland as I look very European. So I am hoping to blend in well with the natives. But is it okay to eat alone ... sometimes the staff at restaurants act like it is an inconvenience to be serving just "one" person.

Pubs and restaurants have a little different function in CR and USA (at least as I heard, so maybe I'm mistaken.) In USA it's principally eat and go - if you finished your meal, staff will signal to you - it's time to go. But in CR pubs/restaurants serves as places for social gathering.
It's common that people go to pub, eat dinner nad they stay with drinks to closing time.

There will be no problem from staff if you are alone at table, but be prepared that you can be asked by another guest if he could sit at your table, if there are no free tables. It's not considered rude.

Another warning - smoking in restaurants is common here. Some restaurants ban it during lunch time.

And the last advice about restaurants. Customer service unfortunately still isn't always very good in CR, but absolutely the worst is in main turistic areas, because there is constant inflow of tourists, so pubs never go out of bussines despite of their bad services.

So, general advice is - if you want to eat, leave main touristic areas and you will find better service and considerably lower prices (but more Czech meals).
