Hello. My friend and I will be visiting Prague in mid-November for two weeks. I have found many suggestions of where to visit, but there appears to be many limitations due to the late time of year for our visit. I have no doubt we will completely enjoy our visit, but I want to enjoy at least one moment that I can look back on years from now and say "I HAVE to go back because _____." Does anyone have any recommendations of what to see or do to obtain such a wonderful memory? Thank you for any suggestions. We will try as many as suggestions as time permits and hopefully find many memories that will draw us back time and time again. Bobbie Jo
hello when me and my partner were there we really enjoyed going for a few beers in old town square on a night, the atmosphere was quality with many restaurants to choose from. Also visit the karlovsky music club near charles bridge. (watch out for bar staff and how much they take in tips though). views from up near the cathedral and the cathedral itself are unreal. hope this helps a little
Awh… when my hun and I were in Prague for the first time, it was New Year's and from our hotel room window we could see a huge fireworks above the entire city – the next day we went to Charles' bridge and wished to come back to Prague some day. And that became our tradition – every time we leave Prague we make the same wish on the Charles' bridge. (In the meantime, we found that the time between midnight and 2 am is the best time to visit Charles' bridge, cause it's least crowded then.) We've seen pretty much everything, from the National Museum and all historical sights, to the transvestites' show in Tingl Tangl club, but, although there's ALOT to see in Prague, what keeps us comming back is the spirit of that city – we just fell in love with it instantly.
Thank each of you for your suggestions. Beer is always good and the Charles Bridge at midnight sounds like something reminiscent of a romantic movie scene. We shall definitely enjoy both suggestions. And thanks for the clarification on the Karlovky. Bobbie Jo
thanks for correcting me, sadly i aint too clued up on my czech, otherwise i would not have came home!!
I'm US Air Force and while stationed in Germany I met a lovely Czech woman. Of course I visited her a lot in Praha, but she also took me around the country to different towns and sites! CZE is such a lovely place and you will never have enough time to see all of it, of course, but I have two suggestions while you are there: 1) Karlštejn: not sure what it will be like in the winter there, but it was absolutely beautiful in the spring...copy and paste the link (http://www.czechtourism.com/index.php?s ... 004&lang=3) and 2) Karlovy Vary - Carlsbad: spa town, very scenic and relaxed, nice for a day trip (http://www.czechtourism.com/index.php?show=000001003)!! Of course this is considering you can even get out of Praha, there is SO much to do and see there, but I do suggest you take one or two days out of your two weeks and travel to at least these two places!! It will definately make it an "I HAVE to go back because _____." experience!!
