Yes, tram stops are announced (always the current one and the one to come) and, on the newer trams, also displayed in writing on a digital display.
Just a remark: while you may want to call this equipment digital because it utilizes computer technology, the display is actually alphanumeric, showing letters as well as digits. A digital display shows digits, that is numbers, only. Andy, I only go to Prague occasionally, hardly ever traveling by tram there, but I'm not aware of maps being shown on trams. There are underground system disgrams on the metro cars, but you'd better find out about changing lines and stop names before you travel whether it's by tram or by the "mole"... Jirka Bolech
