Does anybody know, is there an opportunity to study advertisement or Personnel Management somewhere in Czech Republic?

I am not from Czech. But, I think everything is relative. One problem with advertising or sales is the fact that the jobs are 100% commission. Just call a bunch of the local papers or surf on the internet for companies that you want to sell for. Find out what the commission structure is ( for example 10% or 20%). Meet the companies and go with the one you feel most comfortable with.

It might take time to build up your commission. Here, you have to get a job waiting tables to provide a steady base income.

This is what I have done. If you need other tips on building businesses let me know. I can go on and on............Johnny

I think what she had in mind was university studies in publicity and imagology as an academic field.

My bad. My point was society tells us we need to go to college to be successful. But, statistics indicate that there are many people who made a lot of money with no formal education. I went to college and graduated, but the real world taught me how to make money. If you want to do something - you just have to come up with a plan and implement it. Whether your black or white, eduacted or uneducated should make no difference. The winner is normally the one with the strongest will.

    Helen,

I am not familiar with the universities in the Czech Republic but the University of Economics in Praha is accredited by the Association for Advancement of Colleges and Schools of Business (AACSB). This accreditation is very important for business schools in the US (i.e., unaccredited schools are considered to be of poor quality), but I'm not sure how important it is in Europe. Here is the link to the school's web page. If they are AACSB accredited, I am sure they offer courses and possibly concentrations in personnel (look for Human Resources or HR Management too) and advertising. I will begin teaching HR Management at a university in the US in August, so I felt like I should at least try to help out someone who is interested in studying my field. Good luck.
