Can I do this - local train/bus to borders then walk across?

I will be traveling to the Czech Republic in November with a base in Prague.

Is it possible to take the Czech Republic transportation to borders of the countries Slovakia, Poland, Austria and Germany, then walk across each of these borders, and finally board the public transportation of the country we enter?

I'm after two things with this request. First, I'm hoping save costs on trasportation as the international trains seem more costly that I originally expected. Second, there is a bit of excitment that comes with entering a country slowly with the ability to take our time and enjoy the feeling of it.

    Thanks,
    Bobbie Jo
