hahaha.. I know y'all are gonna laugh but it has to be asked, Are there sharks in the Vltava (river) or is that just a rumor? Again w/ my limited czech here's my feeble attempt. Somebody please correct this: jsou tam nějaké žraloky v dome Vltava nebo jsou tam jenom pověsti?
Hi there! I´ll try to correct your translation. I´d say it like: "Jsou ve Vltavě nějací žraloci, nebo jsou to jenom fámy?" (if you necessarily need to use "in the river Vltava" replace "ve Vltavě" with "v řece Vltava" Jsou tam = there are, but not in this case when you have exactly defined the place - "in Vltava"... Czechs dont say "There are sharks in the river." - they only say "V řece jsou žraloci" - literally "In the river (there) are sharks" I think "there is/there are" can be rather translated as "je/jsou" not "je/jsou tam" ... Dom = a house pověsti = can be also rumours, but I´d rather use "fámy" S pozdravem Aachie
