Whew, that was a mouthful. So I was in a bar in Zurich, and the bartender made my friend and I try these eggs. They were wrapped in foil, chocolate shell, and the inside was filled with whipped egg whites that were sweetened. They were one of the most delicious things ever. EVER. I didn't catch the name of them, and it's been some months now.. Does anyone have any knowledge of these magical eggs? Perhaps even a place to buy them here? Apparently they're quite popular in Switzerland. Thanks!!
Although I don't think that they're quite the same thing, your description reminds me of Cadbury Creme Eggs. Have a look at the Wikipedia entry for these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury_Creme_Egg Even if it's not exactly what you're looking for, I think you'll like it
I agree.. I LOVE those too. These, however, we quite different, in that the filling was whipped egg whites.. which for me was pretty odd..
Hmm, now you have intrigued me! I can't quite imagine what they'd be like. After a cursory search, I found this: http://www.andreasrecipes.com/2006/04/09/experiment-filled-chocolate-easter-eggs/ but she primarily talks about peanut butter-filled chocolate eggs. Am I getting any closer to what you have in mind?
Maybe But the unique feature of these eggs was the filling. I think I'm going to try and find some Swiss forum and post there. I'll let you know what they say
