basically the same as in the West, electronic music and rap/hip-hop are generally considered to be less mainstream and the punk and metal scenes are somewhat more active over here but those are just minor differences

Hey! That was quite a band you got there! Anyway, just curious. How much is prague so far influenced by western music? I mean you go for rap music too and that's good. But to what extent is Prague still nfluenced by western music? Aside from rap you also go for country music too? LIke dixie chicks of some sort? Kirzy Kate

I am looking for some Czech music that I can listen to in my car to help with getting use to hearing Czech often. It does not matter what kind of music it is, as long as the words are clear and the music is at least so so. I can't find much on Amazon.com so if there is any thing please let me know. Also please tell me where on the web I can find it. Thanks. 8)

Promeny by Cechomor is pretty good. It's slower so you can hear/understand the words. It's folk music, very pretty and relaxing. You can purchase it on Amazon but it seems expensive there. I believe my husband got our copy in CR. I ripped the CD onto Windows Media Player so I could put it on my MP3 player. If I can figure out how, I will try to put a song on here so you can sample it. I'm not very computer savvy so I'll do what I can.
You can also download Jaromir Nohavica's latest album from his web-pages: http://www.nohavica.cz/_en/diskografie/ ... palena.htm
In double checking Amazon, I realized that that version of Promeny might be the English version. I don't know how to check for sure, but look closely before you purchase it because I would hate for you to expect Czech and get English. Sorry I don't have to worry about putting a sample on here because I found them on youtube. You can watch a video on this site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ez31V68UOeY The video is kinda lame (imho) but you can enjoy the music.
Thank all of you very, very much. You are all so helpful. I will check the links and sources you all gave. I'll keep all of you posted on how it works out.
