Trying to figure out this sentence. Nemáte u vás pro někoho takového místo. Book says it means: Do you happen to have a position for someone like him where you work? What I don't see is the "where you work" I think it has to do with "U" but I'm not sure. Also, why is místo at the end ? It would be so much easier if it were after nemáte. Just a little rant on my end, sorry. Lastly, is "takového" in the genitive here or accusative? I suspect takového is in the accusative because někoho is. But there are soooo many rules that I don't want to just pass by without asking. Thanks, Calvario
u (prep. with gen.) = at, by, near, next to u vás = in your house, in your country, in your company (where you work) according to context pro (prep. with accus.) = for pro někoho takového = for someone like him
Yes, I understand now. It was the u Vás part that I wasn't clear about. It's hard to understand how that says "In your company". Though in English I could say" I'm going to Marks" and it would be understood that I was going to his house. Thanks, Calvario
