Moving from South Africa to the Czech Republic

    Hi.

At the end of this year we are moving to a village in Leberec to stay with my father-in-law.

Can anyone tell me whether it will be possible for me to offer english lessons and, if so, what hourly rate I could charge?

I can do a TEFL course here in South Africa but I think I prefer to do one in Prague - because it may be better recognised. Also, many courses there offer some Czech classes, which will help me as I can only say "Je nem loveem Czesky" and obviously can't spell it properly, I'm sure!

I do have Czech permanent residence so I guess that means I can seek employment...? It's just that we will be living out in the countryside, which will make finding work difficult (for an english-speaker).

I'm also curious about the prospects for buying and renting out property. Is this in any way a wise idea?

Thanks for a great discussion forum :)
