Sorry if this question has been asked before What do you think is the best and easiest to use free translation web site for translating single words and small phrases from Czech/English and English/Czech :?:
for online dictionaries i use a combination of these two: http://slovnik.atlas.cz/default.aspx?word=koE8ka&lang=1 and the one scrimshaw mentioned somewhere recently http://slovnik.seznam.cz/?q=ko4ka&lang=cz_en some phrase you'll be able to find - otherwise they are more of "single word" dictionaries - so knowing first case for nouns and the infinitive of verbs (if that's the right term?)
I use http://www.slovnik.cz/ http://www.rewin.cz/WebForm1.aspx http://www.translation-guide.com/free_o ... h&to=Czech (this one can give some odd results) and http://slovnik.zcu.cz/online/ hope these help
Hey guys, thanks for your input - much appreciated. Glenn, hows the ticker? Hope you're looking after yourself.
Glenn, those are good ones. I've bookmarked them. I like the way they break them down into nouns, verbs and adjectives. Not all dictionaries make that clear.
I would add these two dictionaries: 1) Lingea Lexicon Well-known for its paid off-line version, the on-line version seems be restricted, but still one of the best on-line dictionaries I know. Přeložit = Translate 2) Slovop on-line Quite unknown dictionary, there exists also a more exhaustive off-line version, but the on-line version seems be sufficient (in spite of unattractive graphic design). a-č = English-Czech č-a = Czech-English n-č = German-Czech č-n = Czech-German čs. pravopis = Czech orthography (Extent of this dictionary seems be identical with http://www.pravidla.cz, but the searching works only with the basic forms.) Vyhledat = Search
Doing just great, thanks! Just got back from Puerto Rico where I hiked 3/4 mile down and up again on a mountain in a rainforest. No problems so I guess it is ok.
Good stuff. Thought you must have been away. I can't think of anywhere much more different from Prague as Puerto Rico!
