My sister and I will be in Budapest on May 10-14. We plan to take the train to Vienna, but also would like to visit Chesky Kromlof. Is it possible to go there on a day trip from Vienna by bus or train? Or is it better to go from Budapest to Chesky Kromlof and then to Vienna. Can this be done by train? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheska Krumlof, topra Krumlof. Papala, fojacek... (Your spelling of ČK reminds me a quote from Švejk :)

Český Krumlov is much closer to Vienna then to Budapest. Tthe journey still takes about five hours from Vienna, and you have to switch trains two or three times.
From Budapest to ČK it takes 10 hours or more, and many connections go through Vienna anyway.

    Consult www.vlak.cz for schedules.
