travelling by car

    i am visiting prague in july,i will be driving from munich,could someone please tell me if there is any customs checks going out of czech republic on the roads as my friend told me cigarettes were about 20 euros for 200.

    If you are EU citizen, there are no more customs checks.

    You can drive straight through, no problems.
    depending on the brand of cigarettes, if you buy them in a supermarket, you'll get them cheaper than that.
    Enjoy your trip and save some pennies for a couple of bottles of Absinth! You'll never find it cheaper!!

    I am not sure of this. Afaik, the new outer borders are not yet secure enough, so there still are identity checks on the Czech - German, Czech - Austrian etc. borders. But if you are EU citizen, they just see your passport or another ID (passport is recommended) and let you go.
