Eva, you have to admit that the responses your Canadian comedian chose to put in his show were skewed toward the highest comic value. Hence the "average American" in his show is most likely not a representative sample of all Americans. Jay Leno does the same thing on his show, by the way. Unfortunately, gross ignorance extends even to the government level. The governor of a Midwest state - I forgot which - got caught too and some students at Harvard. I'm sure that Mercer kept only the stupid answers but they represented a fair cross-section of the population.
