The only you need is a Slovak-English dictionary. 8) See http://slovnik.zoznam.sk/?word=vsetko&lang=12.
I would translate "you need" as "potřebuješ" is "ti treba" slang, a case I've yet to learn, or another word than "potřebovat" ?
First of all, it is not Czech but Slovak! The phrase “je ti treba” means literally “is need to you”, but the Slovaks usualy ommits the verb “je” which makes the sentence verbless and thus confusing for foreigners. The construction is not common in Czech, we use the construction “you need” (potřebuješ). We have the phrase “je (po)třeba” in Czech too, but it is not used as extensively as in Slovak. There is a movie “Je třeba zabít Sekala” for example, the title means literally “There is need to kill Sekal”, but the official English title is “Sekal Has to Die”.
