    Hi,

My mom is coming from Alaska to stay w/ me for a week. I thought I could take her to Canada for a day or two. I was just wondering if there are any Czech related shopping up there? Also what else is there that may not be in the "good ol USA"? What kind of ID do we need to get across the border? I was told that before 9/11 it was just DL or state issued ID, but now they also want birth certificates. Is this true?

    Thanx!

Yes, since 9/11 the rules have changed and you are required to have proof of citizenship. You don't have to be a citizen to have a driver's license. It's either later this year, or the beginning of next that you will be required to show a passport. You may want to invest now, since they are good for 10 years.
