Help with translation

    My girl friend sent me this today: "vajicka nedame jen vas vodou pole jeme". Can you someone help me with this. I think it must be idiomatic. Thanks very much

    Literally it means "We will not give you any eggs, we will just spill some water on you."

    It points to the Czech Easter tradition of girls giving eggs (usually painted or somehow decorated) to boys on Easter monday.

    Hi CaptOneIron,

    I'd only like to add that "polejeme" is word word and that spilling water is a Slovak Easter folk tradition, but it's supposed to be performed by guys on girls.

    I assume that both whipping girls with birch rods in the Czech Republic and spilling water in Slovakia at Easter must be perceived as rather barbaric by some sensitive souls...
