Hey! So my dad says a couple things in Czech(or so he thinks) and I can’t find them online. His grandparents came to America from Czech Republic.

I’m going to butcher them, but...
Hotherock (he uses it like napkin or paper towel, but could mean rag or something like that), pronounced like hother(rhymes with father)-ock(like rock)

    Dalincu- term of endearment
Pronounced dalin (rhymes with Stallin, as in Joseph)-Coo(rhymes with poo)

    Hi Keri,

I think "hotherock" could be hadýrek (a little rag), which is pronounced "hah-dee-reck". The word "rag" is hadr in Czech, pronounced "hudder".

I'm not sure what the other word means. Could it be that your dad took the word "darling" and turned it into an English/Czech word by adding a Czech ending, thus making it "darlingku"? The -ku ending is used when addressing someone in Czech, e.g. miláčku (sweetheart).
