Czech "hej" means "say" (that "say" used to catch somebody's attention) or "hey, heigh", Slovak "hej" is unformal "yes" (yeah, yep).
The Slovak "hej" took me a while to get used to. I'd say something to someone, and they'd reply, "hej, hej, hej!", and I'd think, "Hey, Hey, What? What did I say???" :lol:
