If you're visiting relatives and staying with them what is the polite thing to do? I was thinking about taking small presents for everyone, but would that be over the top?

I always bring presents, but not necessarilly for each person. I bring a gift for the whole family.

It is normal to bring some toys for small kids, some chocolate for older kids, bottle of wine for adult kids ;-)

The more presents, the more they will love you
And what would be over the top? Maybe if you take them out to a really nice restaurant. Eating-out is really expensive for the Czechs....

So are you saying taking them out to dinner is "over the top" or a really nice thing to do?
