Letná Hill

Letná Park is located on the hill you can recognize by the red metronome on top, which you can see clearly from in front of the Hotel Intercontinental at the end of Pařížská Street, or from the Dvořákovo nábřeží embankment. Some areas of the park, including around the metronome, are surprisingly unmaintained and messy, whereas other areas are taken care of and landscaped.

Getting to Letná Hill

To get to the top of Letná from the Old Town, walk across the Čechův Bridge, cross the street, and climb the stairs that you will see right in front of you. This will put you right by the metronome and near Hanavský Pavilon, which is very close to one of the best views of Prague. Alternatively, take the metro to Hradčanská and enter the park “from the back”. This way, you’ll avoid the stairs and will walk on flat terrain.

What to Do on Letná Hill

This large park offers a nature escape, lots of walking and cycling paths, a real local experience of Prague, and a fantastic view of the city and its bridges. Kids will enjoy Letná if they have something to ride – a bike, a scooter or rollerblades. There is a playground there for small children as well. Because the park is popular with all kinds of riders on the weekends and during the summer, you’ll want to keep an eye on your kids and make sure they don’t get hit by a passing cyclist or skateboarder. Weekdays are quiet in the park. You’ll find a fantastic view of Prague’s bridges near the Hanavský Pavilion.
