Central Bohemia

This pretty region within a 50 – 70 km (30 – 45 mile) radius around Prague offers many destinations for a day trip from the capital. Some of the most popular places to visit are the Karlštejn Castle and Konopiště Chateau, and the picturesque medieval town of Kutná Hora with its Church of St. Barbara and the gloomy ossuary of Sedlec. In the wine-producing town of Mělník, you can have lunch at the chateau restaurant while overlooking the confluence of the Vltava and Labe Rivers below.
