Events in
Český Krumlov in 2016
Český Krumlov has a number of cultural events throughout the year including music festivals, film festivals and holiday markets. Some major events are listed below.
The fairytale ambience of the medieval town combines with the magic of May Day Eve to set the stage for the celebration of the Month of Love. During the festive evening, you can enjoy a whirl of witches, the building of a maypole, live music, and a lantern procession, while on May Day you can visit exhibitions and expositions free of charge within the Museum and Gallery Open Day, which will offer a number of new and interesting displays and events.
The spirit of the Renaissance age is brought back to life for three days with jousts, craft fairs, medieval music, street plays, and fencing duels to culminate with the highlight of the festival – a spectacular procession in historical costumes featuring knights on horseback and many notables linked with the history of the town. No matter what the age or the expectations of the visitors are, all will certainly enjoy themselves.
